What's the Holiday About?

Originally from Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated every year on March 17. Commemorating Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. But it also celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general.

That's why we see traditional Irish colors like green, orange and white. Plus we also see some common Irish symbols like shamrocks, leprechauns, and the Irish flag.

As the tradition goes, wearing green on Saint Patrick's Day is supposed to make you invisible to leprechauns. They will pinch you as soon as you come upon their radar if you don't wear green. So grab your hottest greenest outfit and get ready to party!

St. Patrick's Day, even though it comes from Ireland. It's celebrated all around the world. A special way to celebrate it's to go to St. Patrick's Day Parade, the most special one is held in Dublin-Ireland. Another famous city to celebrate St Paddy's Day is Chicago, where you can go see the The Chicago River dyed green. And if you're more on the wild side, you can also celebrate at Irish Pubs and even do a bar crawl.
